Fiber Beads and Cinnabar Necklace

Last night I made this necklace using Carolyn Saxby's beads which were so thoughtfully given to me by Sophie Watkins.  I used Ingrid Mueller's two-sided pendant as a focal and a great bow shaped bead of red cinnabar that I've had for a very very long time.  It was too bright so I thought "What would Marina do?"  I painted it and then sealed it with Renaissance Wax.  The leather is a metallic copper that I recently purchased and just love.  I made the clasp myself out of copper wire and turquoise rounds.  Would love to hear what you think - especially about the part of the pendant being hung askew like it is.

Love what you did with this necklace and the beads you received from Sophie♥
Great assortment of colors. Also love how you darkened the cinnabar bead looks great! What did you darken the bead with?
Turned out Fabualous! Love it!

Ingrid, I used raw umber acrylic paint. The kind in the little plastic bottles that they sell at Wal-Mart and other hobby stores. I did not dilute it with water and used a stiff brush to poke it down into the creases. Then I wiped off the high parts. Once it dried overnight, I sealed it with Renaissance wax and polished it.

Jean, This is fantastic! I love the cinnabar bow and how you treated it is really creative. The idea is going in my "Little Black Book of Wonderful Ideas" I like the idea of how you placed the pendant. Your jewelry is so unique and imaginative. Thanks for hsaring it with us.

Where is the best place to pick it up?

Tesing you hehe!

Yes, when I bought mine, no one on etsy was offering it, but now it has gained enough recognition that there are several and if you price shop you can do as good or better than buying from an on-line jewelry supplier.
