I am excited to participate in Kashmira Patel's Anklet Blog Hop and
today is the reveal day. I made several anklets for this challenge. I
started with some macrame ones and I have been wearing one for about two
weeks now and I can't even tell I have it on any longer.
I learned that anklets need to be small, flexible, and smooth to be wearable. You don't want them hurting the bones in your legs or snagging on things.
I used a variety of Czech glass beads and various seed bead combinations and waxed linen thread.
Picasso drops.
Top drilled teal coin beads.
I also used lobster clasps (very small ones) on the ones I used copper findings.
Black Czech glass flags with a brass clasp.
Silver rolo chain with psychedelic beads (you have seen these before), a pewter peace bead and a round clasp.
These are the first anklets I have ever made.
This was a fun challenge and I will make more of these.

Wow, 5 anklets. They're all cute. Love the color in them. I only got one made, but it was fun.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to try out some macrame too, but ended up making all of mine with chain. I love these, especially number 3 and 4...those colors just look gorgeous! And those flags are so unique!
I have some of those psychedelic beads too....keep wondering what to do with them...they're so umm...psychedelic! They look nice here :)

I love all of your anklets, the work that went into the designs is awesome! Like you this was my first time making anklets, and my daughter has already claimed the two that I made..so off to making more!

I love them all. I must get myself some waxed linen I haven't worked with it yet but there are so many applications that it appears to be great for. Your anklets are one them. They have a look of boho fun to them.
